Who We Are

I’m Dan McClure, Managing Partner of MHS. I’ve been a Colorado resident since 1969 and have lived in Douglas County since 1984. I spent 30 years in the petroleum industry as a geologist and engineer and have been in the hardware retail business at Parker True Value Hardware since early 1999. Their recent closing has motivated me to start this business.

Crystal, my wife, partner and best friend, is a certified nurse’s aid currently employed in Castle Rock at a senior care facility. Some of you may remember her as a special ed assistant and booster store manager at Ponderosa High School in the late 1990’s.

My son Matt, 35, holds General Contractor’s Licenses in Oregon and Washington and specializes in environmentally benign construction techniques and in custom stone and tile work.

Younger son David is a plumber with experience in all aspects of residential work including sprinkler systems. Both Matt and Dave are available on a consulting basis if their old Dad gets in over his head.

Where We Stand

I’ve always been a bit leery of of people who make a point of telling you how honest or how capable they are; and I doubt there’s anyone in business who, if asked, wouldn’t say that honesty’s the best policy, whether they believed it or not. Fact is, talk is cheap. Having said that, here’s our own talk: we’re in business to make money. We think the best way to do that is to satisfy our customers. That, in turn, means providing quality work at a fair price. It mans answering calls and showing up when you say you will. It means keeping customers informed, helping with design work as needed, and working around customers’ schedules.

I firmly believe in doing the job right the first time, having learned many years go how costly it is to do otherwise. So, if a customer’s requirements present a new challenge, I’ll do a thorough appraisal and advise accordingly. If I’m not confident that I can do the work to everyone’s satisfaction, I’ll tell you so.

We believe in ourselves individually and as a family;

We believe in and subscribe to the sovereignty and the Constitution of the United States of America; and finally,

We believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, and we entrust this venture to Him.
